There are two types of people in this world as soon as the calendar says August 1st.

It's officially Fall!!!

or

Shut up August is still summer.

Either way it's almost BW (Basic White) girl season. I myself tried to wear a sweater on Friday to dinner and halfway through I had to switch to a t shirt. It could have been that it was still 90 degrees in Louisiana or the margaritas....we will never know. In this article I will be highlighting all the best places to take your pumpkin spice latte selfies.

Salem Massachusetts

This is a bucket list trip for a lot of my Spooky Halloween Loving Clients. This seaside town most famous for its witch trials (they didn't burn witches they burned women), and the setting for everyone's favorite 90's Halloween movie Hocus Pocus is a must see. As your travel bestie though listen to me when I say stay far away from it during Halloween it becomes like New Orleans at Mardi Gras time. You can still visit early October and get the same vibes...I promise. So grab you a hot chocolate or hot apple cider and check out the things to do in Salem below.....

My recommendation a nighttime walking tour is a must.... there is something about the dark, the bells tolling in the churches, and the wind rustling the leaves on the ground to make even the most skeptic feel a chill down their spine.

Vermont

This state is a road trip requirement in the fall, so I couldn't choose just one city. After all you have 100 different picturesque bridges to cross over/visit, just don't Beetlejuice yourself on any of them. You can spend an entire day driving the winding mountain roads and valleys getting lost in the kaleidoscope of colors. Make sure you bring your hike trailing shoes, because how else are you going to go for a trail walk get lost and come across the handsome inn owner who quit his job in the big city to live a simpler life and live out your Hallmark movie dreams?

These are your future dogs running ahead of you on the same trail you guys met on a year later.

Gatlinburg Tennessee

Picture it... a log cabin looking over the Smoky Mountains with a wraparound porch, wooden rocking chairs, a 10-person hot tub, and your whole family....

There I am...

*CRASH*

I hope you enjoyed your 10 minutes of peace, your nephew just hit a pool ball through the downstairs window......someone's not getting their deposit back.

I'm kidding...this family friendly destination boasts beautiful scenery, lots of activities, and woodsy areas you can go out and scream and no one will hear you. If you live in the southern United States, you don't get to experience much of the changing of the seasons around here. It goes from HOT to a little less HOT to 2 weeks of Winter where the whole state will shut down...back to starting all over again. So, Gatlinburg being a 10-hour drive away for some of us makes it a hot spot for clients to experience. When you've run out of the snacks you just bought and can't stand being in the house any longer feel free to check out all the things to do....

You will NEVER catch me on a Mountain Coaster....EVER!!!

Aspen Colorado

Although, this destination is highlighted for a winter getaway too, it has everything a perfect Instagram post's needs, mountains and leaves changing colors. The best part is they change a little earlier than the east coast with mid-September to early October being the best time to catch them, so you can enjoy it with the kids all having returned to school by then.

I'm a mom I am allowed to say this...

Check this link for some things to do while you're there!

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

You thought I wasn't going to put the birthplace of the #1 BWG drink spot. In case you didn't know Starbucks first started in Seattle and you can grab yourself a Pumpkin Spice Latte before taking an underground walking tour or visiting the space needle. If finding the most haunted places in each city is on your list visit Kells Irish pub which now operates out of an old mortuary building that was used for the city. Of course, you can get out of the city to go pumpkin picking, or apple picking, and visit some amazing waterfalls Washington has to offer, and since it's a heavily influenced state of German ancestors there are lots of Oktoberfest opportunities to take part in. If you get sick of watching the Seahawks lose, their stadium does offer views of the Pugent Sound, the city, and the Olympic Mountains.

As a Patriots Fan I will never forget this moment...IYKYK

So here's to bonfires, big comfy sweaters, and finding a little magic in this upcoming season.

As always Take the Trip
