One Event, Endless Ideas: Highlights from Travefy Live

When starting this career, I never imagined the possibilities of experiences and opportunities I would be a part of. I have travelled with Classic Vacations to Maui, Galveston with Carnival Cruise Lines, Tulum and Cancun with ALG Vacations, Orlando with The Wander Network, and the most recent Las Vegas with Travefy.
It's really a cliche to say one moment could change your life, but in this case, it truly was a 5- minute conversation that changed mine. While attending Ascend with ALG Vacations I made it a point to stop by the Travefy booth to tell Stephanie and Bonnie how much I love them. When I discovered Travefy my business truly transformed. I'll do the short version so fast forward 3 months later and I am an official Brand Ambassador for them.
So, when they announced their first ever LIVE and FREE in person event in Las Vegas, you better believe I was going to be there.
Everyone buckle up for a wild 30 hour ride..... (No, this blog won't be 30 hours, that's how long I was in Las Vegas...no I'm not kidding) Listen if you aren't working a 10 hour day, driving 3 hours, catching a flight, spend an amazing day with people, then hop back on a plane, drive another 3 hours and finish out a work day to be apart of something as amazing as this event...are you really chasing your dreams? My answer is... that's exactly what I did.
Now, it's not traveling if something doesn't go wrong, and of course my flight is delayed out of Houston.
So instead of getting in at 11:30 PM, it was now more looking like 12:45AM. I at least wasn't worried about the city being asleep.
Whew I've made it, check into my hotel room at the Flamingo, and try and settle down. I finally get to sleep around 2. I was doing the mental math, and I estimated I could get about 6 hours of solid sleep...what I didn't account for was my son not understanding I was a 2 hour time difference from him. So naturally my phone rings at 3:45 AM, "MOM, can I not go to school?" I'll let you imagine how that conversation went.
Ok.. ok.. I got this I'll just fall back asleep....sure I did for about an hour and then the phone rings again.... THAT'S IT! I'M UP!!!!
I am going to just get ready... after spilling makeup on my shirt, burning myself with my hair curler, it's time to head over to the Paris Hotel and Conference.
My first saving grace of the day was Bonnie! She said let's get you some coffee. I mean I knew I loved her before this...but those magic words were music to my tired ears.
We run into Mari (another amazing Travefy Brand Ambassador who would be presenting that day!). We get back coffee in hand and meet up with the rest of the Travefy Crew (David, Adam, Stephanie, Kyle, Becky, Roslyn) and some amazing brand ambassadors like Karla! It was amazing to see the behind the scenes of how hard these companies work to put together amazing conferences for us advisors.
After, a quick run through (Becky was shining here) and a couple of pieces of pizza (thanks David!) it was time for the show to begin. It was great getting to meet and see everyone. Travefy had a designated tote decorating station, swag table, unending coffee, tea, water and a board on what successful means to them this year for the advisors to take part in before we began. Everyone sat down to a seat with a Travefy Water bottle, Workbook/Note Session Book and it was time for Roslyn to kick us off!

The entire day was spent highlighting features of Travefy with Bonnie and Stephanie, building your business with Roslyn, Success talks with Megan and Adam, Mari showing us the tips and tricks, and special guests David and Kyle pumping us up to look forward to What's Next! I spent the day working closely with other advisors showing them quick work arounds to problems and handing off anything I didn't know the answer to off to Kyle. (Sorry Kyle)

When work was done it was time for fun, we were treated to a happy hour where we got the chance to mingle and mix around with everyone and win some pretty amazing prizes. How many companies do you know that the CEO is hanging around, talking to you, answering your questions? I know it's usually a hard answer, but not with Travefy! It's really what sets them apart how amazing their entire team is.
It was time for me to head back to my hotel, because I had to get ready for a dinner date with this amazing team and fellow Brand Ambassadors at Mon Ami Gabi. This is the French restaurant located at the Paris hotel and the views of the Bellagio water fountain show is unmatched. (Unless your staying at the Bellagio and your view is the fountains....)
This dinner was extra special as it gave us a chance to talk about what an amazing day and success this first event was. This is also where if you've read my blog posts in the past you know I have to cry at least once, David's toast got me.
I make it a rule to try everything once and thanks to Adam teaching me the proper technique (rip off a piece of the baguette, take the hunk of meat out of the garlic and butter, dip the bread and soak all of that goodness up, then put the meat on top of the piece of baguette and bite) of eating it, I tried Escargot for the first time. (Yes, it's snails...don't think about it)
After way too much food and a serious talk about $5 blackjack it was time to head back to get ready for my 5:15 am flight. I set both of my phone alarms, so I can get everything together and get a nice relax start to my long day... THE END......
COME ON!!!!
I thought you would know me by now, this is after all like 2 years' worth of blogs I have written. Of course, my alarms didn't go off, I wake up at 4:06 AM!!! That's right my flight is boarding in like 42 minutes and I'm just opening my eyes. I could have won an award on how fast I packed, literally just threw everything in my suitcase, sat on it zipped it up and ran. I will give the shout out to the taxi driver that ran a yellow light for me, because they knew I was running late. But, since I'm a good person in the end TSA had no lines, and I even had time to stop and get a coffee and breakfast before we even started boarding. This was my testing of the airport theory. (I do not recommend trying this trend).
Sleepy eyed and anxiety ridden, it was time to head home and back to reality.
This opportunity was one for the books, between the amazing Team and getting to meet so many different advisors it brought a special kind of joy to my heart and passion to this career. I will continue chasing my dreams, making an impact with my travel business, and shouting from the rooftops on how transformative Travefy can be for Travel Advisors.
